Sheers arrived at Barlow’s Park to play 4th placed Tadley Calleva after taking all 3 points at Tooting & Mitcham in the midweek fixture. Despite the Sheers having to manage the Tadley Calleva dominance in the first half the Sheers were well worth the point in the second half.

Sheers on 3 minutes from Elliot York’s cross almost found the diving Tommy Whitby’s head. Tadley replied from a corner that Alme Kamden headed over the Sheers goal. Tadley took the lead on 8 minutes with a good move with a pass from the left to the right side that was fed across the Sheers goal area that Sheldon Wright finished well into the bottom corner of the Sheers goal. Sheers were forced to make a change on 28 minutes with an injury to Jake Horn with Ben Portbury. On 39 minutes Alme Kamden missus with a chip that sails past the Sheers goal. After good work by Razza Ajibola that forces Tadley to concede a corner, Sheers Elliot York’s header is saved by keeper Burke. In the closing stages of the first half the Sheers push for an equaliser but were denied from Tommy Whitby’s shot on goal by Tadley clearing the ball off the line. Half Time 1-0

On 49 minutes Tadley’s Alex Miller shoots goal wards that the Sheers keeper Drew Churchwell blocks and the rebound is put wide of the Sheers goal. Tadley then have another chance from Kieran Rogers with his shot just going over the Sheers bar. Good build up play from the Sheers players involving Ethan Leeks, Aidan Larkin, Razza Ajibola that gives Elliot York a chance who shoots over the Tadley bar. Sheers were awarded a penalty with the Tadley defender deciding to clout Tom Gardner after a Sheers attack had broken down. Elliot York stepped up to rifle the penalty into the left corner of the net for the Sheers to level the scores on 59 minutes. Tadley’s Jace French missus the Sheers target on 64 minutes. Sheers mount pressure on the home side with Tadley having to give away fouls to stop the Sheers. Against the run of play the Sheers give away a soft goal after not defending a throw that allows Tadley’s Aime Kamden to get free to score past the Sheers keeper Churchwell. Tadley’s Brad Neal works well to cut out Elliot York’s run at goal on 79 minutes. Sheers continue to press only to find the Tadley’s rear guard resilient to keep the Sheers out from scoring. The Sheers were awarded a free kick with Elliot York being taken out from a strong challenge some 25 yards from the goal. Elliot York decided to take on the shot and rifled his shot towards the bottom corner that the Tadley keeper Burke got a hand to the ball but couldn’t stop the ball entering the net for the Sheers equaliser.
