There was no repeat of the Sheers performance back to the home fixture against the Hammers when the Sheers drew 0-0 back in October. In this match along with the rain the Sheers were swept away to a big defeat despite their second half performance.
Within the first minute Sheers Jake Horn won the ball in midfield to send Harvey Valter down the right who delivered onto Elliot York whose shot was saved by keeper Cawdron. In reply Cobham swept the ball down the right and then with a cross that was not taken by the Cobham forwards. On 10 minutes the Sheers keeper Drew Churchwell makes a double save from Cobham’s Marklew and the follow up from Murray. Cobham open the scoring on 12 minutes from a cross into the box from Murray that Marklew snaps up to score from close in. Sheers Mekhail McLaughlin gets back to make a good take to prevent a Cobham scoring chance on 15 minutes. On 22 minutes Razza Ajibloa gets the ball wide to Harvey Valter who sends the ball back to oncoming Alfie Burton who shoots wide of the host’s goal. On 26 minutes the Sheers should have levelled the scores with a good sweeping move from Harvey Valter & Elliot York with the ball then delivered perfectly for Razza Ajibola into a goal scoring chance who shoots directly at keeper Cawdron. Two minutes later its 2-0 to the Hosts with Murray again getting space down the right side to deliver into the Sheers box that Dean Rule snaps up to slide the ball past the Sheers keeper Churchwell. On 32 minutes Sheers Harvey Valter commits a foul on the Cobham player that the Cobham players surround the Sheers player. In the settlement Referee Andrew Tooley decides to caution Harvey Valter and sin bin Sheers Ajibola & the Hammers Marklew. Minutes later the Hammers no 5 got away with revenge on Sheers Harvey Valter. On 35 minutes the hosts go further ahead to make the score line 3-0 with a threaded pass to Murray who has the easy chance to score past the Sheers glove man. Half time 3-0
Sheers on 50 minutes, York has his shot saved by Cawdron. Minutes later the Sheers keeper blocks a shot with an outstretched leg that sets up a corner for the hosts who put further damage on the Sheers to score from a free header by Marklew.
Sheers then make substitutions with George Mackie & Alfie Burton being replaced by Tommy Whitby and Aiden Larkin. On the hour Sheers prevent another goal with Callum Mackie making a block on the Sheers goal line. 62 minutes Emeka Okakpu replaces Harvey Valter who was under the scrutiny of the referee. Sheers get themselves a deserved goal on 67 minutes from the hard working Elliot York who was set up nicely by Whitby and Larkin. On 70 minutes Tommy Whitby’s lofted shot beats the Hammers keeper Cawdron but sails wide of the Hosts target. On 76 minutes Sheers Ethan Leeks replaces Razza Ajibloa. On 84 minutes Sheers Ben Portbury trips a Cobham player in the Sheers area and the Hammers put their final nail into the Sheers for the 5 – 1 score line.
