Top of the table Cobham came to Sheerwater in great form winning 9 league games out of the 10 games played with their last two matches the Hammers won both 5-0.

There were few goal scoring chances but the match was on a knife edge for the entire game.

The Sheers after a good passing move ended with Alfie Burton’s shot saved by keeper Cawdron on 2 minutes. Cobham responded on 5 minutes with a dangerous cross into the Sheers box from Simpson that is cleared by Jake Horn. On 8 minutes Sheers Aiden Larkin feeds Harvey Valter who shoots just over the bar and 2 minutes later Harvey Valter’s shot goes inches past the post. 13 minutes another dangerous cross into the Sheers box is cleared by Ben Portbury. Sheers Razza Ajibola & Alfie Burton combine to put Harvey Valter in for a chance but he loses procession of the ball. 29 minutes after a Cobham free kick is delivered but the front two are unable to connect with the ball. 34 minutes, another Cobham free kick from Murray is headed over the Sheers cross bar by Gbadmassi. 40 minutes Cobham’s Simpson feeds the ball through to Murray only for Callum Mackie to intervene to stop the attack but has to concede a corner. Corner is headed out by Sheers McLaughlin but again come Cobham with gaining another corner that has to be dug off the goal line by Razza Ajibola stopping Alexiou from scoring. Half Time 0-0.

Cobham on 51 minutes with no 9 Simpson through on goal that the Sheers keeper saves the shot with his legs. Sheers then defend well with 2 follow up corners from Cobham. 52 minutes a big chance for Cobham with a cross that is headed onto Simpson at the far post but he heads over the Sheers bar. 54 minutes Cobham’s Toissant raids down the left side and delivers a cross that Sheers keeper snatches the ball out of the air.

Sheers on 59 minutes have a chance from their corner that Mekhail McLaughlin wins the header that is knocked off the line by Alexiou. 65 minutes Sheers long throw into the Cobham box that is headed on that the Cobham keeper Cawdron was needed to act quickly as Mekhail McLaughlin would have scored.

On 80 minutes Cobham win the free kick and Sheers Foster is pushed off the ball that starts both teams coming together but thankfully the situation is calmed down by referee Ben Maskery. Cobham push forward in numbers and the Sheers retreat further back and on 82 minutes Cobham have the ball in the Sheers net but the goal is ruled out for offside. On 88 minutes Sheers keeper Drew Chuchwell saves a long shot from Cobham. 89 minutes, Sheers push numbers forward for York’s long throw into the Cobham box gets cleared by the Cobham defender. Sheers continue with a free kick that Elliot York strikes the ball goal wards that keeper Cawdrom takes at the second attempt. 90 minutes Sheers keeper Churchwell takes a dangerous cross from Etefia. Cobham push forward and in doing so the Cobham player handles the ball that is not given and the Sheers are left appealing that almost cost them the game as Cobham are through on goal that the shot is deflected by Ben Portbury for a corner that was on route into the Sheers net.
