

Sheerwater were back at home again after their home win on Tuesday in the Surrey Senior Cup to 12th placed Camberley Town and the squad were reminded of their away defeat at Horley Town on Saturday 4th October and manager TJ Barbato got his reward with a blistering performance from his squad.
Sheers were first to get a strike on goal in the first minute from Alfie Burton that lacked power to trouble keeper Dom West. Camberley then were straight up field for their own attack with Josh Ewing’s near post attempt that was blocked for a corner. On 10 minutes head tennis in the Camberley area was finally headed on by Sheers McLaughlin that looped wide of the target. On 12 minutes Josh Ewing was again through on goal that the Sheers keeper Churchwell was quick to clear. On 19 minutes the Sheers opened the scoring after Kareem Foster raided down the left and had 2 attempts on goal with the ball coming to Aiden Larkin who set up Mekhail McLaughlin to smash the ball home. On 22 minutes Sheers Aiden Larkin jinked his way past his defender to get in a threatening position who was then fouled only for the referee to waive away the appeals. On 24 minutes a Camberley free kick sailed over everyone to a Camberley player arriving at the far post who miscued his attempt. On 29 minutes Sheers mounted an attack with Ben Portbury feeding Aiden Larkin who then crossed into the box that Razza Ajibola headed wide of the Camberley goal.
2 minutes later Razza make up for his miss and breaks through the Camberley back line to control the ball from Ben Portbury to slot the ball home for 2-0. Camberley’s Hoppitt puts in a strong tackle to stop Elliot York’s attack on 36 minutes. On 38 minutes Sheers Kareem Foster evades two tackles from the Camberley defenders to set up Alfie Burton who shoots well wide of the target. 41 minutes Camberley score but the effort is disallowed for offside. Camberley’s Larriey-Price sends in a threatening cross that Sheers keeper takes the ball out of the air. 47 minutes Sheers long range effort from Callum Mackie is saved by keeper West. Sheers end the half in command for a 2-0 lead.
Sheers continue their dominance to score two quick goals in the first 5 minutes of the second half with Elliot York setting up Alfie Burton to score and this followed with Aiden Larkin’s neat flick to Elliot York who fires past keeper West for the Sheers to lead 4-0. On 51 minutes from a Sheers corner by Foster, Elliot York heads just passed the upright. On 63 minutes Camberley’s Milchev- Szczepaniak out muscles Ben Portbury for the ball to score despite Sheers keeper Churchwell valiant effort to try and keep the ball from entering the net. 66 minutes Sheers Aiden Larkin’s effort hits the Camberley post. 74 minutes Sheers make 5-1 with Harvey Valter’s run at the goal to bury the ball from 18 yards into the corner of the Camberley net. On 80 minutes with the best Sheers move of the match leads to Ethan Leeks playing in Emeka Okakpu to fire past keeper West for 6-1. On 84 minutes Sheers nearly Cop it when Dan Watts shimmies the ball into his own goal. On 90 minutes Camberley pull another goal back from a free kick central just out side the Sheers area that Milchev-Szczepaniak roots keeper Churchwell still as the ball flies into the top left hand corner of the Sheers net.
The Sheers received the full credit from the Camberley manager Dan Turkington who said the Sheers were the best side they have met this season playing really well.
